Progress

The trend, not the noise.

One number a day tells you very little. Ten weeks of them tell you everything.

Progress in detail

Weight, read the way it should be read

Body weight moves two kilos in a day for reasons that have nothing to do with fat. The weight screen draws the trend through that noise, colours it against the direction of your goal — gaining is good news on a bulk and bad news on a cut — and projects a date from the pace you have actually held rather than the one you hoped for.

That projection is also what the adaptive target uses. When the trend and the plan disagree for long enough, the app proposes a new calorie target and shows you the arithmetic behind it. You accept it or you do not.

Entering a weight is a comma-safe decimal field, a date picker and nothing else, and every entry can be written to Apple Health so the rest of your health data stays in one place.

Body fat, four ways

A single body-fat method is a single opinion. The app records four: a reading from a smart scale, the US Navy circumference formula from your measurements, a caliper reading, and an AI estimate from a photograph. They will not agree with each other, and that is the point — what matters is that each one moves in the same direction over months.

The AI estimate is a Premium feature and marked Beta. It needs a front photo, returns a range rather than a single number, and tells you how confident it is. The photo is sent once to the analysis provider, is not stored there, and the whole feature is behind an explicit consent step because a body photograph is special-category data under GDPR Article 9. It is an estimate, not a medical measurement, and it is not medical advice.

Measurements cover neck, chest, waist, hips, biceps, forearms, thighs and calves, and feed the Navy calculation directly. Taken once a fortnight with the tape in the same place, they are the most honest progress signal there is on a cut, because a waist that shrinks while the scale sits still is exactly what you were after.

Photos that stay on your phone

Progress photos are taken front, side and back, and compared with a before-and-after slider you drag across the two images. They are stored on the device. They are not uploaded to build a gallery, and they are not part of anything social.

The one exception is the AI body-fat estimate, which sends the front photo you choose for a single analysis, once, with your explicit consent, and keeps no copy. If that is not a trade you want to make, the other three body-fat methods are all available without it.

Take them in the same light, at the same time of day, in the same clothes, and eight weeks apart they will show you something no chart can. Photographs are the reason people who were convinced nothing was happening carry on.

Records, badges and streaks

Personal records are kept per exercise: the heaviest set, the estimated one-rep max and the total volume, each with the date it happened. They update themselves as you train, so a record is something you notice afterwards rather than something you have to claim.

Fourteen achievement badges mark the milestones worth marking. Streaks are deliberately forgiving: you choose which weekdays are rest days so they do not break the count, a grace day covers the one you missed, and a shield can be held in reserve. A streak that punishes you for a Tuesday you spent on a train is a streak you will abandon in a month, and an abandoned streak tracks nothing.

Steps and sleep cards read from Apple Health sit alongside all of it, so training, intake, weight and daily movement are on one screen instead of four apps.
